Oscar Romero Award

At HFSIX, The Oscar Romero Award serves as a reminder of the importance of striving not just for success, but for character and integrity in all that we do.

The Oscar Romero Award is our highest recognition for students who embody the ASPIRE values of achievement, service, participation, integrity, respect and equity. Inspired by St. Oscar Romero’s legacy of social justice and selflessness, this award celebrates those who strive not only for personal excellence but also for the well-being of others. Students earn credits towards the Oscar Romero Award by engaging in activities that embodies these values.

At HFSIX, Acts of Service are an integral part of the Oscar Romero Award and a reflection of our commitment to living out our Catholic values. We believe that serving others fosters compassion, responsibility, and a sense of purpose, helping students grow into empathetic and socially conscious individuals. Students have numerous opportunities to engage in service, whether through volunteering, fundraising for charitable causes, or participating in school mentoring programmes. These activities allow students to make a positive impact on both our school and local communities while developing leadership and teamwork skills.

The Oscar Romero Award is not only a testament to students’ achievements but also a powerful reminder of the importance of being "more" in the spirit of St. Oscar Romero's words. It honours those who use their talents and time to make a lasting impact on the world around them, embodying the heart of Holy Family’s mission.
