Annual Plan of Provision

At Holy Family Catholic School, Catholic Life is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by the Gospel and inspired by our Aspire values, we seek to ensure that every member of our community is supported to grow academically, personally, morally and spiritually, enabling each young person to “be more” in every aspect of their life.

Our school is a Catholic community rooted in faith, prayer and service. Daily prayer, regular Celebrations of the Word, opportunities to participate in Mass, and a rich rhythm of worship shape the life of the school and provide moments of encounter with Christ. These experiences are planned carefully in line with the liturgical year, helping students to understand and live the seasons of the Church through prayer, reflection and action.

Catholic Social Teaching underpins our approach to education and pastoral care. Through charity work, social action, leadership opportunities and engagement with local and global communities, students are encouraged to put faith into action and to work for justice, dignity and the common good. Students are supported to grow as compassionate, reflective and active citizens, committed to serving others.

Catholic Life at Holy Family is inclusive and welcoming. While our prayer and worship are distinctly Catholic, we respect and celebrate the diversity of faiths and cultures within our community, fostering dialogue, mutual respect and understanding. This reflects our belief in the dignity of every person and our commitment to building a community rooted in love, respect and peace.

To ensure that Catholic Life is lived authentically and consistently across the school, our provision is carefully planned, monitored and evaluated. Our Annual Plan of Provision sets out how prayer, worship, formation and mission are woven through the life of the school across the liturgical year. This document reflects our commitment to continual reflection and improvement, ensuring that Catholic Life at Holy Family remains purposeful, engaging and faithful to our mission.

Catholic Life & Mission

Aspiring not to have more, but to be more

Catholic Life is not something that happens in the background - it is the heartbeat of our school. Inspired by our mission to “Aspire not to have more, but to be more,” students are encouraged to live lives of faith, service, and hope, following the example of Christ and the teachings of the Church.

Our Catholic identity is visible, vibrant, and lived daily. Every classroom has a prayer focus and crucifix, every lesson begins with prayer, and our form time, assemblies, and curriculum are shaped by Gospel values.

The chaplaincy team works closely with students to provide opportunities for prayer, reflection, and social action. Liturgy Leaders and Catholic Life Ambassadors plan and lead worship, while Sixth Form students take part in the Oscar Romero “Be More” Award, deepening their commitment to faith in action.

A highlight of the year is our whole-school Retreat Day, held near All Saints’ Day, when the timetable is suspended for prayer, reflection, and Mass. Year groups also participate in experiences such as Reconciliation services, the Stations of the Cross, and visits to our partner parish, Our Lady & St George’s.

Catholic Life extends far beyond liturgy - it shapes how we treat one another, how we serve, and how we teach our young people to live with purpose. From student-led fundraising to our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, we are building a community where every person is known, loved, and called to greatness.

Whether planting trees, preparing hampers, leading worship, or raising money for CAFOD, our students don’t just learn about faith - they live it.
