CPD
Our aim at Holy Family is to ensure the Continuing Professional Development of all our staff, both Teaching and non- Teaching.
We have a weekly In House training programme where whole school Teaching and Learning issues are addressed and examples of creativity in teaching and good practice are shared. All staff are invited and welcomed at these sessions. In addition to this staff are encouraged to attend external training, where they have the opportunity to keep up to date with their subject knowledge and be trained in the many changes in the Curriculum. Alongside this we also have a regular programme of learning walks and all staff are part of a trio, with the aim of further sharing good practice on a mutually agreed aspect of teaching and learning.
Our school subscribes to PIXL and this area of training has been an excellent source of ideas, the sharing of good practice and an inspirational experience for those who attend. Many of these meetings are subject specific and so relevant to that area of the curriculum. As a Leading Edge school, and a member of the SSAT we have access to a range of training sessions provided by them.
We work collaboratively with local Primary schools and a Secondary school and have initiated joint training sessions such as a recently successful “Teach Meet”. This collaboration not only provides the sharing of good practice, but also networking opportunities.
Holy Family participates fully in the newly formed Waltham Forest Challenge training and our NQTs are actively involved in the Borough Secondary NQT programme, which provides training experiences specific to their needs.
